Abstract

Subjected to thermal stress were the two fish species: carp (Cyprinus carpio) and crucian carp (Carassius Carassius). The experiment was conducted on two groups: the experimental and control one. The experimental group was subjected to thermal stress by exposing the fish to water temperature of 29 oC for 30 minutes. In both groups, a direct heart punction provided serum samples for measuring glucose level. Statistical analysis of data showed a significant increase in blood glucose level (0.00002), and also significant level in males (0.026) and females (0.022) of the carp, while at crucian carp significant fluctuations of this parameter were not observed.
