Abstract

In controlled breeding, parasitic diseases represent one of the major problems of wildlife. Apart from having mechanical, toxic and allergic effects, parasites can transmit other pathogenic microorganisms. Together with poor nutrution, on winter conditions in particular, severe infestations result in worsening of the body condition, sickness and death. The paper presents previous investigations of parasitofauna of wild animals in the area of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
